The Power Of Gratitude

 November 2013 Insights

What better month to write about the virtues of gratitude then in November when we celebrate Thanksgiving, the holiday particularly known for acknowledging our blessings and taking stock in all that is good in our lives. I’ve actually been wanting to write about the concept of gratitude for awhile now because it too is just as instrumental in enhancing our lives as are any of the strategies, tools and insights I share with my clients. Since many people seem to think that the primary focus of my work with clients is mostly about what’s not working in their lives, I really wanted to take this newsletter to share how creating positive change in one’s life is actually more about looking for what is working in your life and not obsessing about what is not. Building upon our strengths and examining the positive aspects of our lives is just as integral to creating greater success and fulfillment as is eliminating anything that is counterproductive to our ambitions. Living in the Moment…Can it be Done?

October 2013 Insights

Now that’s a tough one. Personally speaking I struggle with this concept often. Let’s face it, asking women to live in the moment is an oxymoron in and of itself. In this fast-paced, overloaded world where women are revered for their abilities to manage multiple things at once, how are we suppose to suddenly shut it all down and “live in the moment”. It sounds lovely and of course would serve us all very well but it is completely contradictory to how we live our lives. From family schedules and responsibilities to work and household deadlines and commitments, the idea of being “present” in most moments of our lives seems like a tricky thing to nail down. However, as I’m learning with practice and determination it can be done.  After spending some significant time researching the subject and having personally invested my own time in practicing various “mindful” exercises, I have come up with my own “Tip” list I would like to share. The Necessity of a “Personal-Buy In”

July 2013 Insights

As I have shared with you in past posts, I believe the most essential component to creating greater success and fulfillment in one’s life is having the right frame of mind. Whether you are looking to enhance your health & well-being, social & intimate relationships, professional endeavors or personal growth, how you view the aspects of your life most important to you, will be the determining factor in your level of success in any of them. This is where having a “personal buy-in” becomes key to “having it all”. (more…)

Six Foundational Strategies to Achieving Life Balance

June 2013 Insights

Looks like last month’s post struck a cord with a number of you! It seems many women share the feeling that they are chasing their tails in pursuit to “having it all”.  Most women agree, balance is one of the greatest goals in their lives but it appears to be as elusive as it is desirable. However, it doesn’t have to be that way, as I shared in last month’s insights, it really just boils down to three main elements. First, and foremost is understanding and respecting each and every important aspect in your life (addressed last month). Second, is obtaining the right tools and strategies to navigate those aspects in your life and third is having the personal/emotional buy-in to succeed in them. In this month’s Keys to Success Insights I will share six common strategies that all women need to consider in order to enhance greater life balance. (more…)

Part One of a Three Part Series

 May 2013 Insights

As a mother of two children and as a women’s self-development life coach, I know first hand how challenging it is for most women to maintain a place for themselves while balancing the many demands in their complex lives. I understand how a women’s dedication and commitment to others often overrides their ability to take care of themselves because I too from time to time experience getting lost in the shuffle of life. I completely get how hard it is to “have it all”. But what I have come to learn, both personally and professionally, is that having it all really just boils down to three main elements. First, and foremost is understanding and respecting each and every important aspect in your life. Second, is obtaining the right tools and strategies to navigate those aspects in your life and third is having the emotional buy-in to succeed in them. (more…)
