The Heartfelt Pleaser

No matter the situation, you’re always the first person to raise your hand to help others.
And the walls other people hit? You see them as learning lessons (while also taking notes so you don’t repeat the same mistakes).

You’re a role model for others with your genuine and likable personality. And everywhere you go you bring a sense of peace and calm with you. (BTW- the rest of us are envious of this because we aren’t as thoughtful as you.)

But, during this phase of life, there’s been a lot of curveballs thrown your way.

All the radical changes — whether they’re related to your career, relationships, surging hormones, sagging skin, or your desires as a whole — may have you feeling a bit dazed and confused.

It’s made you question — and maybe worry — what does the future hold?

The good news is that no matter how big (or small) life’s problems are, you’re always there to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. And because of the patience and the empathy you show others, people gravitate towards you.

This is a true advantage in life, and it’s important to lean into your strengths when you look in the mirror and ask, “Where do I go from here?”.

And believe it or not, this new chapter in your life can be your best yet (yep, even better than when you were in your 20s and still looked great — even if you only got 5 hours of sleep).

Keep reading, and I’ll tell you how…

I know that navigating your midlife can make you feel a little like Samantha on the Sex in The City Reboot…

Not interested in showing up.

This is understandable because this transition can leave you feeling disjointed — the signs of aging on your face, your children growing up, friendships changing, health stuff like mammograms and colonoscopies…

And because of this, you may be telling yourself that you’re…

  Struggling with the feeling of “if not now then when” and wonder, “where did all the time go?” or question, “what will be my legacy?”

  An empty nester, trying to figure out who you are and discover a sense of purpose as you move into the next chapter of your life.

  Part of the sandwich generation, jumping between looking after teens/young adults AND parents/elders (with little time and conflicting demands).

 Trying to redefine yourself after being known as “mom” for over two decades, all while navigating career changes, hot flashes, and a deep line between your eyebrows.

And… I GET IT because I, too, am in the throes of a bombardment of change. The struggle of midlife is real!

No one prepares you to live in the trenches of parenthood, elder care, loss, sickness, and menopause.

But, if you keep waiting for ideal conditions to redefine your purpose, you may get to the end of your life and say, “I wish I’d had the courage to make changes and live a life true to myself — not the life others expected of me.”

Here’s the thing, though — in midlife, you’re a whole lot wiser and so much less concerned with pleasing others. This puts you in a powerful position to take your struggle and use it as a catalyst to create a real transformation.

You just need to know how to shift your energy through the midlife transitions you’re encountering.

Doing this will allow you to start living a life you truly love living.

Keep reading, and I’ll tell you how…

“Life doesn’t owe us anything.
We only owe ourselves, to make the most of the life we are living, of the time we have left, and to live in gratitude.”
~ Bronnie Ware

The midlife transition can be easier than you think. Here’s why:

You’re uniquely positioned to access greater joy, ease, and confidence.

Not just because you’re so much wiser in midlife and care so much less of what others think, but because with wisdom, you’ve gained discernment.

You’re SO over feeling less than. Plus, you’re motivated by the “now or never” feelings — you don’t want to leave this world with regrets.

This puts you in a prime position to transform yourself and do all the things that might’ve scared you earlier in life (or didn’t have time to do with cooking dinner and running kids around to soccer practice).

And now you just need a shot of confidence so you can go out and navigate life on your own terms.

Well, here’s my 3 Step Process to help you do it:

Create an empowered, energetic state.
To be able to make changes in your life, you need first to understand your energy. What does that mean in plain English? Think about it, rarely if ever, with the exception of a health crisis, does our level of capabilities, talents, and competencies change significantly from day to day or even moment to moment. So why do you feel on top of your game one minute — and then feel like you’re on shaky ground the next? Why will you “perform” well one day and poorly the next doing the same exact activity? It’s your energy. Energy is the one thing that changes everything.

Turn down the volume on your inner critic.
Your purpose in life is much BIGGER than what your inner critic tells you. It’ll try to convince you that it’s keeping the danger out, but what it does is stop progress and abundance from coming in. When you can clean out the mindset junk holding you back, you can start to attract more of what you really want in life.

Weave Research-Based Strategies and practices into your life. I mentioned energy already, but this isn’t a new form of “woo.”

There are research and science-based strategies that you can implement to shift your energy in the right direction — because the energy you bring to any situation is the key ingredient to the results you get.

Imagine what it would feel like if you …

Decided to live in the moment and use the rest of your life as an opportunity to assess what’s truly important in your life and make changes accordingly (versus just existing).

Let go of your fear of failure.

Could speak your truth, even if your voice shakes.

Let go of the “I thought I’d be further ahead” thoughts and instead gain a new perspective and find more happiness *now*.

Know how to shift your energy at any given moment so you can make the changes you want in your life (yep, even the ones you’ve thought about working on for decades).

Well, this (and MORE) is all possible…

Everything starts to shift when you…

Become aware of your energy, reshape your attitude, and transform to a greater version of yourself.

Energy is the one thing that changes everything.

The COR.E Energy Influencers are: spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, social, and environmental.

These factors that influence performance vary from person to person and sometimes from situation to situation (but it’s unique to you). Whenever you’re not performing to the best of your ability, something is blocking your energy, and most likely, a spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, social, or environmental factor is holding you back.

Here are the 6 key elements that unlock ease, fulfillment and confidence in your life:

Physical: when your body is unable to function in the manner you’re accustomed to (poor sleep, nutrition, illness/injury)

Social: when the people and social conditions around you aren’t optimal.

Spiritual: when whatever you’re doing causes you to question your purpose, values, goals, and beliefs.

Emotional: when you feel reactive and unable to control how you want to respond in a situation you don’t understand — or that doesn’t meet our expectations or needs.

Environmental: when your surroundings prevent you from being your best (extreme temperatures, office too loud, gym too crowded).

Mental: when you stretch yourself too thin, and your ability to remain focused is compromised possibly because a task is too challenging (or tedious.)

Knowing how these influencers impact your energy will give you the most optimal results.

Energy is the one thing that changes everything. You can make any changes you want in your life as long as you know how to handle your energy.

“Having Holly in my life has been a game-changer.’
At 61, I was suddenly without a job and had a decision to make — find security again within a company, or re-establish my own consulting business. With Holly, I set priorities and examined my belief system — who I was, what I wanted for myself…

Holly has given me focus, direction, and confidence. She set me on a path with goal-setting and has coached me through when times got tough. I can’t get enough of what she’s brought to me!”

Have we met yet? Hi, I’m Holly, the coach behind the quiz you just took…

I help women over 40 get energized and excited about their future and navigate midlife on their terms.

I have come to learn that navigating the inevitable transitions of midlife — children leaving home, careers changing up, parents aging, re-envisioning intimate and social relationships — all while adjusting to health and body changes, can be a disruptive yet transformative force.

And when you’re armed with how to handle life’s disruptions by shifting your energetic state, you can uncover a part of yourself that you thought died with your hair that didn’t need to be colored every 3-5 weeks. My life’s goal is to help women embrace the second half of their life and view it as a gift — not a crisis.

In my past life, I was a therapist for more than a decade. I’ve used all my knowledge — both personally and professionally — to create a unique framework as a midlife transition coach to help optimize your angst and reclaim yourself.

When I’m not helping clients learn to love midlife, you can find me curled up on the sofa, reading with my two beloved Goldendoodles on my lap, sweating it up on the Peloton, at pickleball with friends, chillin’ with my husband, or reliving the 80’s with The Eagles, Queen, and a (minor) hairspray addiction.

“I thought I was in control of my life and then one day I wasn’t. Women are the great ‘do-ers’… we are the multitasking, energizing force that knows boundless energy and a drive to be great in whatever we pursue. Sometimes, we falter.

Holly gives energy where there was none and focuses on keeping you healthy through the process. Through my transition, she has kept me strong and smart.” ~ Marion K.
