Relationships
Are they lifting your spirits up or dragging you down?
February 2014 Insights
What better month to write about the importance of cultivating healthy relationships than February, the month we celebrate Valentines Day. The quality of our personal relationships has an enormous impact on our mental, emotional and physical well-being. Think about it, unless you are shipwrecked on a deserted island, most of us are involved in numerous types of relationships. These relationships may include romantic, friends, parents, children, siblings, coworkers, neighbors, mentors/teachers and of course the often forgotten about relationship with ourselves.
How we chose to experience our relationships can determine our level of happiness. Yet many of us never stop to consider whether as a whole our relationships lift our spirits up or drag us down. I’d like to take some time in this Month’s Key’s to Success Insights and identify those qualities that typically make up a healthy relationship while also make some suggestions on how to better manage those relationships that drain us. Reflecting On The Year Passed
December 2013 Insights
It may be surprising for some to hear but I’m not big into new year resolutions. You see as a life coach I hate to limit myself and my clients to resolving to “get going” on our life ambitions based on what the calendar says. I’d like to think regardless (winter, spring, summer or fall) that there’s no better time than the present to create positive change in our lives. I am, however, a big proponent of taking the last few days on the calendar to reflect upon the year passed as I believe it will help set the stage for greater success all through the new coming year. The Power Of Gratitude
November 2013 Insights
What better month to write about the virtues of gratitude then in November when we celebrate Thanksgiving, the holiday particularly known for acknowledging our blessings and taking stock in all that is good in our lives. I’ve actually been wanting to write about the concept of gratitude for awhile now because it too is just as instrumental in enhancing our lives as are any of the strategies, tools and insights I share with my clients. Since many people seem to think that the primary focus of my work with clients is mostly about what’s not working in their lives, I really wanted to take this newsletter to share how creating positive change in one’s life is actually more about looking for what is working in your life and not obsessing about what is not. Building upon our strengths and examining the positive aspects of our lives is just as integral to creating greater success and fulfillment as is eliminating anything that is counterproductive to our ambitions. Rediscovery vs. Reinventing
Not So Sure It Has To Be One Or The Other
September 2013 Insights
As women we often find ourselves in states of transition. We experience frequent times in our lives when we question our current state of being. We find ourselves asking, are we happy? What is my purpose? Where is my life taking me? Who am I? and Where do I go from here?
Let’s face it, from the moment we hit puberty women become well acquainted with the challenge of making life transitions. From adolescence through late adulthood we find ourselves frequently at times in our lives when we feel a change of self or direction is required and needed. (more…)

No Seriously, How Are You?
August 2013 Insights
So often we ask each other “how are you?”. It’s a nice way to greet people and gives us the opportunity to catch up on our friends, family’s and acquaintance’s lives. But in this month’s Keys to Success Insights I want to take it a step further and ask all of you HOW ARE YOU TRULY? Not only in general but more specifically.
As women, we are naturally nurturing and caring towards our children, mates and other loved ones. Our dedication and commitment to others can often override our abilities to take care of ourselves; creating obstacles with our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. So in this month’s newsletter I’m asking you to take some time for yourself and consider the questions I have attached below and truly assess HOW ARE YOU? (more…)
